We serve Al-Anon members in Northern California Districts 6 - 10. Our districts serve the following counties: Amador, El Dorado, parts of Napa, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sierra, Solano, and Yolo.

(Monday) Sunset Gibbons Closed Christmas and New Year's Days

Due to church closure, the Sunset Gibbons meetings will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Days, December 25th and January 1st.

Bookstore/AIS Office Holiday Closure

The AIS Book Center will be closed for the holidays for the last two weeks of 2023,  Wednesday, December 20th through Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

We will be open for business again on January 3, 2024.

Rocklin Reachin' Out Meeting Cancelled Thursday, December 7

Due to a church closure, the meeting on Thursday night December 7 is cancelled. Meetings will resume next week, December 14th.

District 26 in Northern California has holiday marathon meetings.

Meeting change: Rocklin Reaching Out

The Rocklin Reaching Out AFG will not be meeting on Thursday, November 23 at 7 pm on account of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Friday Morning Renewal holiday meeting change

The Friday Morning Renewal group meeting at Carmichael Presbyterian Church and on zoom will not be meeting at the church this week due to closure of the church campus. The group will meet on Zoom, just not in person. Same time, 10:00 am, same login details as found on the meeting list. 

Holiday meeting status change

Meetings may be closed for the holidays over the next 5-6 weeks. Be sure to find out if the meetings you attend regularly are open or closed for the holidays by consulting the meetings file found on the website. If you don't see a Yes or No indicated, please send the information to the website coordinator, d610webcoord@gmail.com, and the meeting file will be updated.

Alateen Holiday Gift Exchange

The first Alateen Holiday gift exchange and speaker meeting will take place on Saturday, December 2 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. This is a great event for kids 9 to 19, but please bring the whole family for holiday fun and to learn more about how Alateen helps kids living with alcoholism in a relative or friend. This event is free and includes food, fellowship and fun with other teens and adult Al-Anon members. The gift exchange is limited to $10. Please wrap the gift before the event. 

If desired, bring a dish to share. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Cookie decorating will also be available. 

When: Saturday, December 2, 2023 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Where: Lyman Leak Youth Center, 1203 Gabrielli Dr, Roseville, CA

Printed schedules are once again being printed. They are available from your district rep so reach out to them first. They will let you know if you should go directly to the book center.

D8 Desserts, Etc. Sept 13th 6:00 pm

D8 is hosting Desserts, etc. speaker event on Wednesday, September 13 from 6-7:30 pm. This is a hybrid event hosted by North Star LGBT and Friends AFG. Desserts and water provided. The event takes place at North Hall, 3501 2nd Ave, Sacramento, CA, 95817.

Alateen Sponsors R&R registration forms

The 15th Annual NCWSA 2023 Alateen Sponsor Reunite & Renew weekend is coming up in September 22-24, in Occidental Woods. This is a weekend event for Al-Anon members who are interested in learning more about Alateen service, as well as for current AMIAS (Al-Anon Member Involved in Alateen Service).

September 9: Alateen Beach Day Event

An Alateen Beach Day Event will be held on Saturday, September 9th from 11:00 to 3:00 in Aptos, CA. This is an Al-Anon/Alateen event and families are welcome. 

The beach is Seacliff Beach State Park, 201 State Park Dr, Aptos, CA 95003 in the Day Use area. Look for the Sun Sign in the picnic areas at the foot of the stairs.

Bring your own food to BBQ and a side dish to share. Bring your chair, beach toys, and towels. And don't forget the sunscreen!

D9 Summer Day in Al-Anon

A Summer Day in Al-Anon presented by District 9 will be held on July 22, 2023. Take a look at the flyer for more details. 

Where: Pollock Pines Community Church, 6361 Pony Express Trail, Pollock Pines

When: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. 

$5 suggested donation at the door and prize drawing tickets for sale, too.

Meeting changes Holy Week Services

 Be sure to check for changes/cancellations to meetings hosted at churches for the upcoming week Holy Services. The meetings on Sunday, specifically. But on Thursday and Friday, as well.

Sunday, April 9 1:00 pm Roseville Sunday Legacy group will not meet due to Easter services. 

2022-2025 Al-Anon Service Manual

The long awaited 2022-2025 Al-Anon/Alateen Service Manual in English is now available from  the AIS Book Center. Please call (916) 334-2970 or email aisbookcenter@yahoo.com to place your order before going to the book center. 

The book center is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 2pm.


Al-Anon Service in Institutions

Al-Anon service in institutions is a wonderful way to share your experience, strength, and hope of the program that can change lives. What's more, you will receive the message of hope where it doesn't seem possible. 

If this sounds appealing to you and you wish to strengthen your recovery, consider being a part of the Al-Anon teams in our local area prisons and jails. The attached flyer has more details and contact information for the local D6-10 meeting coordinators. 

Spring Fling Donation Drawing volunteers needed

Hello Al-Anon members, 

The Spring Fling annual AA conference with Al-Anon participation is nearly here! The donation drawing chair, Krista, needs some help selling raffle tickets.  If you are going to Spring Fling, can you donate an hour or so of your time to help her?  

This service opportunity will not conflict with any of the great speakers.  Please ask your groups and provide the contact information for Krista.

Spring Fling 2023 registration

The registration is open for Spring Fling event held in Sacramento on the weekend of February 10, 11, and 12. The pre-registration tickets are $35 until Friday, February 3rd. Then they will be $40 up to and including at the door on the days of the event. 

Spring Fling is an AA event with Al-Anon participation. There are Al-Anon speakers, Alathon meetings, a literature and hospitality room and lots of fellowship during this fun event. There are also donation drawing tickets for sale with a wide arrangement of donation items.

The event is held at the Sacramento Doubletree Hotel at 2001 Pointe West Way (near Arden Mall). 

D7 Speaker Meeting

District 7 will be hosting a speaker meeting this month. On Saturday, January 28 at 7:00 pm the hybrid meeting will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption church in Carmichael.

Winter Day in Al-Anon

District 9 presents A Winter Day in Al-Anon, an Al-Anon/Alateen event with AA participation on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Discovery Hills Church, 4270 Shingle Springs Rd in Shingle Springs.

This in-person event includes a potluck soup lunch, donation drawing, fellowship, and fun. Please bring a soup, bread, or dessert to share. 

Mail suggested $5 donation to District 9 AFG, PO Box 656, Shingle Springs, CA 95682 before January 21st or pay at the door.

Al-Anon Sharing of Service event

The Al-Anon Sharing of Service event will be held January 21, 2023 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is an informative event with speakers, Lois's story, and workshops. It will be held on Zoom Video Conference platform.
