Our districts serve the following counties: Amador, El Dorado,
Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo.

Open Positions - NCWSA

Our groups (AFGs) each belong to an Al-Anon District, and each District belongs to a World Service Area.  Our WSA is Northern California WSA, or NCWSA.  Al-Anon members who serve at the WSA level are District Representatives, plus elected members of the WSA Committee, in our case, the NCWSC. The Committee is also referred to as the "Area Panel".  They serve for 3-year terms. There are presently two open positions on the NCWSC.

Diversity Coordinator - this amazing position supports our outreach efforts of bringing the message of Al-Anon to "Anyone Anywhere".  What interesting and creative ideas do you or your members have to help get the message of Al-Anon translated and brought to a broader community?

Alternate Alateen Coordinator - Who wouldn't want to work with Alateens?  These amazing young members of Al-Anon, bring a fresh perspective on recovery.  Listening, sharing and being a part of the Alateen world can bring a colorful spark to your life - especially if you were affected by alcoholism in your early years.  Working with our current Alateen Coordinator, DeDe W is a wish come true...

Anyone potentially interested in either of these positions should contact Darby T, the Committee Chairperson:

WSO has released a new document concerning member safety at Al-Anon meetings and events.  The following is a quote from the cover letter from WSO.  The document itself can be viewed or downloaded using the link at the end of this message.
"   The purpose of this document is to help groups maintain Tradition One, with the understanding that our groups are not impervious to the same difficulties that affect the world around us, by discussing in advance how to address situations should they arise.

Here's the December newsletter --->  2018DecS&C
In this edition, all contributions are from Al-Anon members in Districts 6-10; I didn’t need to rely on The Forum reprints. And Patty wrote a nice thank you to those that stepped up for the members affected by the Camp Fire. Thank you, Patty.    -- Andrea,  Share & Care Editor
