Intergroup Report

Here's the latest report on activities of the Intergroup for Districts 6 - 10.  Intergroup representatives from the AFG's in Districts 6 - 10 meet monthly to oversee the operation of our Book Center and to coordinate Al-Anon and Alateen 12th Step activities in the area served by these districts.

District 6-10 Intergroup Report: October 2018
Hi Everyone!
District 6-10 successes since our last report in May:

● Updates from the Al-Anon Information Services (AIS) office, which is the literature depot
for Districts 6-10:
   ○ We are seeing increases in literature sales of 23% when compared to last year.
One major reason for the increase is that we have a better handle on our
inventory and we can fulfill orders when they come in.
   ○ The office also piloted opening on one Saturday a month. There was a little
activity and the idea was dropped.
   ○ Scanning project: we scanned over 9000 pieces of paper from the office and
electronically archived it, freeing up much needed spacein the office!
● Institutions in D10: started meetings for the first time in Placer Co jail
● D9 netted $1225 at Day in Al-Anon AND provided childcare for event
● Held a prison event where Al-Anon birthdays were celebrated!
● Set up a State Fair info table for the first time with both english & spanish
representatives staffing the table on very short notice
● Our new website is up and running and now has translation support for numerous
languages as well as an email sign-up option for members to be proactively notified any
time an announcement is posted. URL: https://sacal-anon.blogspot.com/
● Share and Care is now email only and content is >3 times the amount provided in
previous years
● Began an initiative for Intergroup board members to provide information on what brought
them to their position in Intergroup as well as strength and hope. Results are being
shared in the monthly Share and Care
● After hours phone support for the AIS office is now in full swing, fully staffed and
providing support for any calls for assistance when the office is not open
● Spring Fling planning for the spring event has started. Event will be Feb 8-10, 2019 at
McClellan Conference Center
● We are having an AIS office and after hours support volunteer appreciation event on Oct
26 at a local restaurant
The successes reported above are due to the dedication and service hours of multiple
volunteers that are active in Districts 6-10. Thank you to all of our volunteers! Your efforts are
making a difference in our community! There are open positions at the Intergroup level that
have been open for over 12 months. If you are looking to join the outstanding group of
volunteers who provide excellent service, please inquire with your group representative or
contact any Intergroup member.
Thank you!
Joe C, Intergroup Chair
