Re: Financial assistance for attending ASSEMBLY in May
The Group Representative (GR) is a vital link in the continuing function, growth, and unity of worldwide Al-Anon. ( Al-Anon/Alateen Service Manual (P-24/27)).
Member + Member = a Group
Group + Group = a District
District + District = an Assembly
Assembly + Assembly = WSO Al-anon World Service Office & Conference.
As a GR you are the link between your group (it’s members) and the World Service Office of Al-Anon. Member voices need to be heard at our Northern California Area 3 Assemblies.
Using Tradition 7, that all groups should be self-supporting, we suggest your group put aside monies every week with the idea of supporting the Group Representative and she/he travels to the two (2) Assemblies in our Area. Some groups can apply to their District for financial assistance, but if that option is not available, the Area can assist.
Our Northern California Area is vast and we understand it might be difficult for some groups at the far end of our area to save or raise enough money to send their GR to Assembly.
If your group is more than 100 miles (one way) from an Assembly location, you are eligible to apply for some financial assistance from the Area Treasury.
You can complete the A4 form found on our website, www.ncwsa.org and send it to our Treasurer, Sandi C at the email address indicated on the form.
Our budget is not unlimited, so the assistance is available on a first come first serve basis.
We look forward to your participation at the upcoming Assembly and trust our HP to provide the necessary funds to get you there.
